Does your pet have healthy teeth and gums? Or is he (she) suffering in silence from painful, swollen gums (also known as periodontal disease). If left untreated, periodontal disease will result in bad breath, painful meal times and eventual tooth loss.

Although pets rarely get the human equivalent of cavities, they are just as, if not more, susceptible to periodontal disease.  In fact, by age three about  80% of dogs and 70% of cats will suffer from significant oral disease!
Humans brush and floss on a daily basis and still need a professional ultrasonic dental scaling and polishing on a regular basis. Our furry friends are no different!  On average, your pet will need a professional dental cleaning, performed here in our practice, at least once a year, while those pets with signs of advancing dental disease may require treatment more often.

It would be nice if your pets would sit in a dental chair for their teeth cleaning. However, since that is not going to happen, we use a super-safe gas called Isoflurane to put your pet under for their cleaning. This is combined with a sophisticated monitoring device called a pulse oximeter.  If you are concerned we would be happy to further discuss the safety of this procedure with you.  Our health care team all have yearly dental cleanings performed on their own pets without worry. It is actually great deal more dangerous to allow the bacteria associated with gingivitis and periodontitis to go unchecked, which often leads to heart, liver and kidney disease.

As part of your pet's complete oral care program, we will teach you how to provide home dental care for your pet.

However, should you prefer, we do provide a teeth brushing and oral preventive gel service for pets which could be done on a weekly, biweekly or monthly basis.

February and March are great months of the year at our practices to have your canine or feline companion's dental prophylaxis done.
We offer a FREE dental examination and consultation as well as a 15% discount on dental cleaning services.  When we are finished, your pet's teeth will look as white and clean as they did as a puppy or kitten.  Make your appointment today by calling one of the numbers below and we will walk you through the process.
