Covid19 and our hospitals

Posted: 3/16/2020

We would like to let all our clients know that we are taking the threat of the Coronavirus very seriously. Given the recent developments with the announcment of the shelter-in-place status, we are making more changes.

All of our hospitals remain open, but Higgins Animal Clinic's hours will be shortened to protect you and our staff in this high traffic city environment.  HIGGINS WILL BE OPEN MONDAY THRU FRIDAY FROM 10AM TO 6PM, SATURDAY FROM 8AM TO 12PM. This will begin Monday, March 23rd and remain in place until the order is lifted.
We are also like to limit the scope of our office visits and surgical procedures to illnesses, injury, chronic disease management, medical progress assessments and appointments related to public health (Rabies, leptospirosis, zoonotic parasite monitoring for example). If you need help determining if your pet should be seen, please call so we can talk about your pet's specific situation.

  • For everyone's safety, if you are sick with any infectious respiratory disease symptoms, have been diagnosed with COVID-19, or are under self-monitoring or quarantine protocol, do not come into our hospital.

  • Curbside service is available. An assistant can come to your car and receive your pet.  After the exam, the doctor will call you or come out to your car to discuss your case. We will be wearing fresh protective masks and gloves for each case.

  • If you are picking up food or medication we will bring it out to your car, and payment will be taken over the phone. You can wait in your car out front for this if you prefer.

  • If you are coming in for an appointment, we ask that only one family member accompany your pet for the appointment.

Do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns you may have. We want to continue to be here for your pets in need.  We will be monitoring the situation closely and will keep you updated as to any new developments.  We encourage you to follow us on Facebook to help us get updated information out to you as quickly as it develops.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We are so grateful to have such amazing clients and wonderful patients and want to do all we can to ensure everyone's safety and well-being.
