Laura - Head Receptionist
Laura was born and raised in Chicago and has worked at Higgins for 8 years. Laura doesn't have much spare time for her hobbies as she keeps pretty busy keeping tabs on her 7 year old son Zachary.
Emily - Receptionist
Emily moved from a small town to Chicago of September of last year. Emily married her husband, Shane, in January. Shane is a dog walker and together, they are a very pet friendly family. They stay busy with their Rott/Shepherd mix, Petunia.
Casey - Receptionist
Casey is a native of Michigan. She attended Western Michigan University and has a BA in Communications. Casey relocated to Chicago a year and a half ago with her little Yorkie, Bella. In her spare time, Casey enjoys hanging out with friends and family, traveling, reading and attending as many Cubs games as possible.
April - Receptionist
April really enjoys helping our clients and their pets, and enjoys the people she works with. April loves relaxing with her family, writing poetry, listening to music, or just taking in a great piece of art work.
Adele - Head Assistant, Behavior Consultant
Adele has been with the clinic for over 15 years. She has been studying behavior modification for 10 years, specializing in feline elimination probems, and enjoys helping owners understand thier pets better. Adele also handles the clinic website. She lives with her boyfriend Brad, and has 2 cats named Moo and Crispin. Adele loves reading, painting and sculpture in her spare time.
Antonia - Kennel Manager
Antonia moved from Guerrero, Mexico to Chicago when she was 16. Antonia has been at Higgins for 13 years and finds working with animals very gratifiying. She enjoys playing basketball, and is currently taking college courses.
Enrique - Assistant
Enrique has been with Higgins Animal Clinic for 16 years. He has been living in Chicago for about 17 years. Enrique loves taking care of animals, and has had pets his whole life.
Felipe - Assistant
Felipe has been with Higgins for 9 years. He spoils every pet in the hospital as if they were his own.
Jennifer - Surgical Team Leader
Jennifer was born and raised in Chicago. She has been working with animals for 7 years and enjoys animal medicine very much. She aspires to become a certified veterinary technician in the near future. Jennifer enjoys sewing and crafts in her spare time. She has a little girl and 3 cats, Justin, Jake and Samual who keep her pretty busy.
Vanessa - Assistant
Vanessa was born and raised in Chicago, and currently resides in Andersonville. She has been working in the veterinary field for 4 years. Vanessa has a cat "Buddy" and a dog "Rocky" both whom she loves dearly. Vanessa is bilingual and loves to dance, and is glad to be a part of the Higgins family.
Dejavana - Assistant
Dejavana joined the Higgins family after a recent move to Chicago from the near suburbs. She has been working as a veterinary assistant since early 2006, and has a passion for both animals and medicine. She graduated from NIU with a bachelors degree in biology, and has participated in an online veterinary technician program. Dejavana aspires to back to school soon to pursue a career as a veterinarian, or as a physician's assistant. At home, she has a siamese cat named "Denver" whom she loves dearly and spoils whenever she can. In her spare time Dejavana enjoys staying active with playing sports, visiting the gym, and aquainting herself with as many of the local restaurants as possible.
Vanessa - Assistant
Vanessa has lived in the Chicago suburbs since she was very young, and officially moved to chicago last year. She attended National-Louis University and received a BA in both sociology and phychology. In her spare time, Vanessa enjoys glass-painting and antique repair. Keeping her busy at home are her three cats Mocha, Orson, and Harpo, whom she dearly, dearly loves.
Michelle - Groomer
Michelle has been grooming for 5 years. She recently moved in October to the north side of Chicago and loves it. She grooms large and small breed dogs as well as cats.
