Dr. Humphrey Roberts

Dr. Roberts started working with Dr. Higgins of the Higgins Animal Clinic in Chicago at the age of fifteen. After graduating from Lane Technical high school, he attended University of Illinois, Chicago Circle campus. After graduation, he attended the University of Veracruz and received his degree in veterinary medicine.

Dr. Roberts is the owner/practitioner of The Higgins Animal Clinic and the Wheeling Animal Hospital. He lives with his wife, Joan, two teen-aged daughters, Lindsay and Alyssa, two cats, "Evander" and "Coqueta" and an Australian Cattle dog named "Boomer".


Dr. Fionnuala Teuber

Dr. Fionnuala (Lu) Teuber is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign School of Veterinary Medicine. She has twelve years of experience as a small animal veterinarian, including experience in emergency medicine. Dr. Teuber lives with her husband Jon, sons Harrison and James, dog "Mickey" and cat "Jellybean". She is a big fan of the Cubs and Illini.


Dr. Carrie Barzyk

Dr. Carrie Barzyk grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago. She graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. After graduation, she returned to the Chicagoland area and has been practicing there for the past 4 1/2 years. In her free time, Dr. Barzyk enjoys playing on her intramural softball team and cheering on the Chicago Cubs.


Dr. Maria Manrique

When other little girls were collecting Barbies, Dr. Maria Manrique was collecting Barbie's pets. Her lifelong passion for animals ultimately led her to Purdue University, where she completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. After spending 15 months at a private clinic in balmy Miami, Dr. Manrique returned to her native Chicago and joined Higgins Animal Clinic in January of 2006.
Dr. Manrique also holds an M.A. from Indiana University and a B.S. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has completed externships at the Parque Zoologico de Chapultepec in Mexico City and the San Diego Zoo.
In her spare time, Dr. Manrique is an artist, specializing in traditional Mexican crafts. She is the proud owner of two cats, Kasha and Lola, and is looking to expand her family with a puppy in the near future.


Dr. Dan Sanchez

Dr. Sanchez earned his DVM from Ross University after completing his clinical year at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Originally from New Jersey, he earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Washington in Seattle. He lives with his wife who is also a veterinarian practicing in Chicago. They have 2 great but often misbehaved dogs named Margot and Vincent. In his spare time he enjoys playing golf, softball, and going to Cubs games whenever he can.


Dr. Jessica Ross

Dr. Jessica Ross is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, and holds a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Ross has been practicing in Chicago for eight years. She lives with her husband and two daughters and their cats Forest and Lexus.


Dr. Brooke Bartell

Dr. Brooke Bartell was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs. After receiving both her B.S. and DVM from the University of Illinois in Champaign/Urbana she moved out east to the shores of the Cheasapeake Bay in Maryland. After practicing for 3 years, and eating a lot of crab, she recently made the move back into the city. When not working, Dr. B likes to ride her bike, play sports, and try new restaurants. She also loves to travel, spending time all over the USA, as well as New Zealand, Australia, and most recently Ireland. Her two cats, Bailey and Morgan, and her new puppy "Tater" keep her company at home.
