Dear Dr. Quarrles and Higgins staff,
the loss of a pet is never easy, but the care, attention and support you provided to us and Booger made a very difficult situation a little easier. Thank you for guiding us through this and for all the care you've provide over the years. You are truly amazing at what you do.
Eric and Phil (Booger's Dads)
Dear, Dr. Quarrels and Staff,
I would just like to say Thank You for your compassion and caring this week when I had to have Lola rest forever.
Lola lived a full life but due to a terrible accident of someone having a large dog off leash and running to us jumping on us Lola fell out of her doggie bag and broke her jaw. She was a fighter and she fought 2 weeks after accident so for this im blessed I had more time with her.
I miss her as she went everywhere with me. We visted nursing homes and I also took her to my classes when I taught children. She had a lot of doggie friends in Lakeview.
A hug to Higgins for all your compassion.
Dear Dr. K., Julia and Staff,
I want to say thank you for all you have done for Hunter. He was always happy to come see his favorite team, and Dr. K. you always made him feel so special. Yes, Hunter was old - but in my eyes and in yours, Hunter's soul was young.
Thank you for being the best to my Hunter. I miss him so much.
Till my next pet, Priscilla
Dear Dr. Damiana,
It's wonderful knowing people as kind and considerate as you are. Jerry and I can barely begin to express how grateful we are for the commitment and compassion you showed while caring for Shelby Lynn over the years and especially during her difficult final months. The support you and all the staff at Higgins - from the welcoming receptionists to your caring assistants to the doctors who stepped in when necessary - means the world to us. I am certain our little girl is warmly smiling down on you from a place of peace.
Thank you for all you've done,
Jerry and Wayne
Recently I had to make the difficult decision to end the suffering of my sweet girl, G.G. two years ago. I also brought my other beautiful girl, Betty, in as well.
In both cases everyone at the clinic was so kind, especially Dr. Damiana and Julia. I just wanted to thank you! Knowing they were in such caring hands made all the difference in the world.
I also wanted to share with you pictures of my little sweethearts in happier and healthier times.
Thank you so, so much!
Dr. LaVigne and Higgins staff,
Thank you so much for all of the wonderful care and love you showed to my dog Seamus and I. I greatly appreciate the thoughtfulness shown throught his life and after as I grieved.
You are truly special people, and I am grateful that Seamus and I had you caring for us!
To all the veterinarians and technicians and all the staff who worked so hard to keep Bernadette alive these past 8 years, thank you so much for looking after my pet. She was a very special little cat. I don't see myself getting another cat, but if I ever did I definitely would be back at Higgins.
Again, thank you all for all your help.
Dear Dr. K, Dr. Damiana, Dr. LaVigne, Julia, Tricia and Adele,
I want to thank you for the beautiful card! You are all so incredibly supportive, generous and compassionate. You helped Franklin and myself cope and get through some tough times.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Dear Dr. Quarrles and staff,
We just can't say thank you enough. Hobie-Cat was where she needed to be and with those who took such wonderful and tender care of her all these years. She would not have lived as long or as comfortable a life if it weren't for you! We've been so blessed by all you do.
With love and gratitude,
M.E. and Katie, Gus and Raggs
Dear Dr. Quarrles and Beatriz,
Thank you so so much for helping me to let Sam go to heaven peacefully...from home, not scared, but on our couch with me by his side in his bed that he loved.
The compassion, comfort and strength the two of you offered to help me and Jim with our final goodbye to Sam was so appreciated. Thank you so much!
Dear Higgins Animal Clinic,
I wanted to say thank-you for the sympathy card and follow up phone call from Dr. Quarrels. Sassy's passing was a difficult one for me. She helped me through a difficult time when my mother had passed. Now I am mourning her passing. Her body has passed. Her memories and sprit are in my heart.
I have family and friends to help. And I was actually headed into your office before deciding to go to the emergency vet. She was suffering and not doing well at all. I will miss her dearly, always.
She was such a special friend. She will always be in my heart and thoughts.
Thanks again for everything,
I would like to give a huge thank you to Dr. K and Brandy for helping me and the kitty I tried to save in her last week with us. Thank you so much for everything, and your thoughts after kitty's unfortunate passing. A billion thanks.
To our Higgins family,
There are truly no words that can express our gratitude for all that you have done for us. Our babies, Chico and Roxy, were cared for and loved by you all and it will never be forgotten.
We are healing from this devastating loss, but are comforted knowing that our precious "Bullie Babies" are playing together at the Rainbow Bridge.
In time, we will add to our family again and when we do, we will come back to receive the love and care that we know only you can provide for us.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
Ric and Rowena
Dr. K and everyone at Higgins,
Thank you for all of your compassionate help over the last few months with Parker. I know you helped him live as long as he did, and I certainly appreciate the extra time I had with him.
He will be terribly missed and I thank you for all you did.
Dear Higgins Staff,
Thank you for all the time that you allowed me to spend with my dog, Mixoflix, during his final hours.
Dear Dr. Quarrles, Dr. LaVigne, and the wonderful staff at Higgins Animal Clinic,
Thank you for being there for me when the time came to let my little Fez go. He fought a short but valient fight against lymphoma. As big as his spirit was, his tiny body just couldn't keep up. The staff at Higgins was so kind and truly helped me through one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. It is strange to come home to a quiet house without that petite animal (with such a huge voice) running down the hall to greet me, not to have toys dropped at my feet in an attempt to play before I even have my coat off, and to sleep in a bed no longer (somehow) monopolized by a 7lb cat.
In the future, when it is time, I plan on bringing a new fur baby into my life. It is a comfort to know that there are compassionate and caring people just up the street at Higgins ready to help me care for my new little buddy.
Dear Dr. Damiana and all the staff at Higgins,
Tim and I can't thank you enough for everything you did for our sweet Beau. Although it has taken far too long for us to convey our appreciation, we have been thinking of your support often. Right from the start of us finding out about his cancer through to the end, you were a constant source of information and comfort, and we are so thankful. We will always smile as we think of "Dr. D" as Beau's Seinfeld buddy, and are grateful for everyone's time committed to his recovery from surgery.
The lovely basket of plants you sent us is a wonderful reminder of our guardian angel Beau. We are still missing him terribly but take great comfort in knowing he had the best care possible. Thank you again for your thoughtfulness and for sharing our happiness at bringing Miss Maddie into our home!
All the best,
Nancy and Tim
To Dr. La Vigne and everyone at Higgins,
Thank you all for fighting so hard to save Buster. This has been so difficult for David and me, because Buster was so young, and it's difficult not to feel like we are missing so much more time with him that he deserved. We know you all did everything you could to save him, but we are trying our best to understand that he had to go. We both really appreciate you coming to our home. Buster loved being with his sister Bailey and new brother Rigby, and I think it made everything just a little less scary for him to be held by me and have David and everyone around him. I know everyone there never got the chance to fall in love with him the way we did, and he was so important to my life, that I created a tribute video. I would really love the opportunity to have everyone see Buster's life, see how amazing he was, and how much he was loved. There will never be any other dog quite like him. Thank you for everything, and we will be around soon.
Kirk and David (and Bailey and Rigby)
Dear Dr. Damiana and the rest of the staff at Higgins who worked with my dear Gracie,
Thank you so much for all of your work, but most of all the loving care you provided for my dog Gracie. Many wonderful people have passed through her life the past 14 years, and I find it truly a miracle that she met all of you right here at the end. She was so fortunate to have so many people love her. Thank you for being a part of her life, and for taking such good care of her at the end. We will never forget your kindness and gentle care.
Kelly and Deanna
There are no words to describe the sincere appreciation for all that you have done for Chico and my family. A lifetime would not be enough to repay you. Our emotions are still raw from losing our beloved Chico, but I know that it was best. The care that he received from you and the love that you shared with him is one of the reasons he was able to survive so long. For that, we are forever grateful. We are taking it one day at a time.
Thank you again for everything,
Rowena and family.
I wish to thank you all for the care you gave to my beautiful dog Ruthy during her recent and sudden illness. Even though we were unable to save her, I never doubted the quality of care she received from both of the attending doctors. A special thank you to Sandra, who exhibited a level of compassion and tenderness towards myself and Ruthy that really made a difference.
Dr. Quarrles and all the wonderful staff at Higgins,
Thank you all from my heart for the many years of kind, caring treatment for Dike. Whenever I brought him to the clinic, I always knew he was in wonderful hands! Because of you - all of you - Dike lived a long, healthy and great life despite his first few months of abuse before he was ours. I cannot and will not be able to thank you all enough!!
Much love and many thanks,
Savannah & Dike (D.K.)
Dr. Quarrles and staff -
I just wanted to thank you all for all of the care you were able to give my kitty, Trouble. You gave me 3 1/2 more months with him from that fateful night I brought him to you. In those months, you all showed such dedication and compassion for his well-being, along with complete accessibility. I think he was given the best care he could have in his last few months, and for that I am forever grateful. But the one thing I am most thankful for is that in his last hours, you and your staff were able to co-ordinate coming to our house last minute to help send him on his way peacefully in his own home.
I can't begin to express how much that meant to me, but more so to Trouble. You allowed him the most comfort and peace we could give him in those difficult final moments. So thank you for that and everything you did for him. My appreciation runs deep.
Dear Higgins Animal Clinic,
I just wanted to thank your staff for the wonderful and caring service you provided myself and my pet. I came in this morning as a first time client to have my beloved pet rat put to sleep. I received great and sensitive care and am really appreciative to all of the staff that I dealt with today. Your care really made a horrible and an upsetting experience the best it could possibly be. I will definitely be coming back for further care for my future animals.
Thanks again, Emily
To the Higgins Team,
Thanks very much for the plant and great card/comments about Zack. You've truely been a second home for him and an extension of my own family at times.
Thank you all,
To our special friends at Higgins,
Our family is deeply touched by the many years of care and love you have given to our precious boy!
He was lucky to have you and we thank you for every visit, every treat, and for your expert care.
We love you guys, Amanda, Robert and Alfie
We wish to thank you and all your staff for the tender care given to Milo on his last day. It was difficult but necessary.
Dear Dr. Quarrles and Higgins Staff,
We wanted to sincerely thank you for the kindness and respect you showed us and our dog, Stella, on our visits. Though the diagnosis of Stella's leukemia was so suddy and scary, we felt she had the best care she could have gotten in her last days. We so appreciate that you took time on your days off to keep us informed. We miss Stella very much, but your kindness made the process much easier.
Thank you, so much - Stella's Mom and Dad
We love the paw print that was sent! Thank you - it is such a nice memento of Stella!
